Finding My Tribe

Life's a Stage!

My strength and support has come from surrounding myself with survivors and warriors against hate! When I came out, as a gay cis gender male, I quickly found comfort and a sense of belonging when singing/dancing with the Rochester Gay Men's Chorus. For over 20 years now I have sung in either the Rochester or Buffalo Gay Men's Choruses. I love to sing and find a great sense of "home" when I gather with these guys!

Just recently I joined the Red Blazer Men's Chorus, an all inclusive organization, to add to the variety of music I am able to bring to stage! I just completed my first season singing with these guys - and love the energy they bring to the stage and to their audiences! Though the Red Blazer Men's Chorus, is not an exclusive LGBTQ+ specific group, I feel times have changed so much over the 20 years. So much so that seeking acceptance in living my truth is not something I personally have to concern myself with as a member of the Red Blazers.

I am fortunate to be having the life experience of living my life authentically, not everyone is able to do that. STILL TODAY THERE ARE SO MANY WHO STRUGGLE AND IT JUST SHOUDN'T BE.
